Dr Catherine Riordan is a highly experienced clinician with more than 35 years dedicated to women’s health, urology, and fertility care. She graduated from University College Dublin in 1988 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 1993.
Throughout her career, Dr Riordan has developed a broad and specialised skill set across reproductive medicine and fertility treatment. During her time working in two of Ireland’s busiest IVF clinics, she gained extensive clinical experience while also witnessing how overwhelming and impersonal the fertility journey can sometimes feel for patients.
Recognising the need for a more individual and supportive approach, Dr Riordan established a personalised fertility service in 2021. Her aim was to create a setting within the community where patients could receive expert fertility guidance, thorough assessments, and continuity of care in a more calm and attentive environment. She has brought together a trusted team of highly experienced colleagues with whom she has worked closely for many years, ensuring patients benefit from deep clinical expertise alongside a compassionate approach.
Dr Riordan maintains a strong connection with advanced fertility treatment through her ongoing collaboration with First IVF. She regularly performs oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers and can refer patients seamlessly for IVF treatment when more specialised care is required.
She is an active member of several leading international reproductive medicine organisations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the British Fertility Society (BFS), and the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR).
